WHY IS STORE LAYOUT IMPORTANT?
The design of a store can help support the image you are trying to project as well as underpin a successful retail strategy. In the ever competitive world of liquor retailing, your business must be visually appealing from the inside as well as the outside.
WHAT CAN WE LEARN ABOUT STORE LAYOUT?
The ALSA Retail Insights module on Store Layout will show you the ‘principles’ that can assist you when designing a new store layout.
When you visit either one of the ‘brand’ name retailers, Apple, JB HiFi, Nespresso and Athletes Foot to name a few, you will find that the store layout has been very carefully thought out in order to give the customer the absolute best shopping experience. We can do the same in our own stores.
WHAT ABOUT STORE DESIGN?
It is very easy to become ‘store blind’ in a retail liquor environment.
How often do we stop and look at our store from our customers’ perspective? Are we presenting the image that we would like? If you find the whole idea of ‘design’ daunting, then run through the ALSA Retail Insights module and you will be in a better position to think about what to do next.
HOW CAN WE DO IT?
Once you understand the principles, you can implement changes to your store yourself, or you can call on the services of an expert. This needn’t be an expensive exercise, especially if you brief the designer well. Once you understand the basics, you will be in a much better position to decide the best way forward for your own circumstances.
